If you have not checked this website out, please do. It is very amazing what they have done. Blindy.tv provides five channels of audio described tv. I wonder if there are more of these type places. Pretty amazing.

I would be able to take it more seriously if they would change the name. It's a bit off-putting, and I'm not the only one who has expressed this. Other than that, it's a pretty nice website.

Post 3 by ProudAFL-CIOLaborUnionGirl (Account disabled) on Sunday, 24-Mar-2013 10:04:49

Yeah the name is pretty bad. It should be called audio described central or something.

Post 4 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Sunday, 24-Mar-2013 10:31:31

Words are turds, we all got 'em. but I like the service, I frequent the Brain channel. Sci fi some and Comedy when they've got the Simsons. Never had the Simsons described before.

Post 5 by booklover256 (Veteran Zoner) on Sunday, 24-Mar-2013 12:57:31

like the name. We need some commedic relief sometimes. Being sensative is a waste of time.

Post 6 by GreenTurtle (Music is life. Love. Vitality.) on Sunday, 24-Mar-2013 17:31:46

I don't dislike it out of a sense of superiority, or any of the other reasons NFB people spout off for getting offended over words like blindy and blink. I just personally don't like the words, they rub me the wrong way. But, as I also said, the service is a good thing in my book. I wish it had a better name, but I'm not up in arms about it or threatening to take legal action against them if they don't change their name, or any other ridiculous bullshit like that.

There site is great. I often visit to kill some time.

Post 8 by Toonhead71 (move over school!) on Monday, 25-Mar-2013 16:26:44

Since it's meant in a totally sarcastic way it's ok. My only problem is every time I tune into the comedy channel i hear the same Frasier episode over and over and over... lol.

Post 9 by rdfreak (THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE-BLUE KANGA-KICKIN AUSIE) on Tuesday, 26-Mar-2013 1:22:33

Agree with the previous poster. But on the other hand, there is a time and a place for such words; I like "audio descrption central".

Post 10 by MidwestMegaMouth (Generic Zoner) on Tuesday, 26-Mar-2013 11:01:39

Actually, I like the service, I just wish there was a schedule so I'd know in advance what's coming on. Usually I check the site when I've got some spare time and there's nothing on that interests me, or I'm tuning in five minutes before the end of a show. They have some hilarious rips of commercials on there. And about the name, honestly, it doesn't bother me. I also think the service is located outside the US, so the insult/humor is maybe not intended. They call white canes "Sticks" in the UK if I remember correctly, and that is considered offensive to some here in the US.

Post 11 by rdfreak (THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE-BLUE KANGA-KICKIN AUSIE) on Tuesday, 26-Mar-2013 23:25:40

yes yes, a schedule would be nice! :)

Post 12 by UniqueOne (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Monday, 08-Apr-2013 13:44:54

oh yes a schedule would be great! Not a bad service at all!

Post 13 by Meglet (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 15-Apr-2013 23:42:30

Those of you who enjoy that service should check out the blind mice mart's movie vault as well. They have a pretty decent selection of movies to download as well as seasons of certain TV shows. . I'm...honestly not sure that what they do is legal but they do seem to be a legitimate establishment and the service is both free and damn handy.

Post 14 by Striker (Consider your self warned, i'm creative and offensive like handicap porn.) on Tuesday, 16-Apr-2013 2:29:51

In a technical sense, I don't think its remotely legal.
But, the MPAA and those interested probably won't find out because of how small the community is.

Post 15 by JerseyGirl1989 (Zone BBS is my Life) on Sunday, 28-Apr-2013 23:13:19

Hmmm, I haven't really checked out this website.. I'll have to browz it sometime. Since I'm on BlindMiceMart at least once a week to see what new movies have been uploaded! I love that site... I'll have to check out this one more thuarly.... Amber

Post 16 by Sword of Sapphire (Whether you agree with my opinion or not, you're still gonna read it!) on Monday, 29-Apr-2013 14:52:45

I absolutely adore blindy.tv. I downloaded their file for Winamp, so I don't have to visit the site whenever I want to watch. Sometimes, I watch it just for the commercials. They are fictitious, and unbelievably inappropriate and hilarious! I would love to know who writes them.
I tune into the SciFi and brain channels often, but Star Trek is always playing on the SciFi channel when I decide to watch.
The only thing I don't like is the segments of comedy acts they play during commercial breaks. They're beyond awful--not even close to funny.
Honestly, I never even thought anything of the name. It is what it is. Change it, leave it, whatever.

Post 17 by Imprecator (The Zone's Spelling Nazi) on Sunday, 05-May-2013 23:54:47

I hope they add various movie channels. Oh, and lose the stupid music breaks!

Post 18 by Sword of Sapphire (Whether you agree with my opinion or not, you're still gonna read it!) on Monday, 06-May-2013 18:25:06

No no no! keep the music breaks!

Post 19 by basket (knowledge is power) on Tuesday, 07-May-2013 12:51:59

those fake commercials they play are taken from grant theft auto games.

Post 20 by ProudAFL-CIOLaborUnionGirl (Account disabled) on Tuesday, 07-May-2013 14:34:25

Oh wow, I was wondering about that.

Post 21 by Toonhead71 (move over school!) on Tuesday, 07-May-2013 19:55:56

they also post stuff from the onion too. I love blindy.tv's smart-assy (is that a real word)? sense of humor, and like the fact that they play a lot of shows described you can't hear anywhere else. I do think that it's not necessary to have audio descriptions for some of the shows, bt as always that's a selective thing, and they don't bother me if they're on. I could get a lot out of them if they weren't there too. So yeah, blindy.tv is the shit!

Post 22 by loves animals (This site is so "educational") on Tuesday, 06-Aug-2013 21:00:48

i agree that there should be a listing of what is going to be on and at what time it is showing.
The only thing is they play some shows that have already been watched over and over again and i have no problem with the name of the site.

Post 23 by mat the musician (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Sunday, 25-Aug-2013 12:56:55

Though the service itsself is great, everytime i enter the DCrama channel, I find either CSI or Numb3rs, neither of which I'm a fan of. I love that they describe such highly visual documentaries as Blue planet, which are even better with audio description. @RDfreak, what is Audio Description central? I googled for it and got no results.

Post 24 by l_borgia (Generic Zoner) on Friday, 06-Sep-2013 1:52:44

Had heard of this site but hadn't really checked into it until recently. I am not one who has description set up on their TV, so I had never seen shows like The Simpsons described though I have seen many of the descriptive movies that are out there. I thought it was cool to see a show that I had so often watched described like that. As for the name I use the term "blindy" all the time, and I think it's super cute that they use it too.

Post 25 by roxtar (move over school!) on Friday, 04-Oct-2013 1:17:50

I love the site. The name is what it is, funny to me, but that's just me. If any of the creators read this board, props guys. This has given me lots of great entertainment. Keep up the good work.

Post 26 by battle star queen (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 10-Jan-2014 23:36:33

I like the site, but I wish they had more channels to pick from.

Post 27 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Tuesday, 14-Jan-2014 16:14:27

I did enjoy watching Star Trek: TNG with descriptions.

Post 28 by UniqueOne (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Friday, 17-Jan-2014 22:13:24

I forget about blindsmart because I think it has become more difficult to navigate..or that could just be me lol

Post 29 by Smiling Sunshine (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Saturday, 18-Jan-2014 0:03:47

Are you talking about blindmicemart's blind movie vault? Yeah, it is definitely more cumbersome since the transition to the new site. I preferred the old sight personally but that's just me.

Post 30 by Imprecator (The Zone's Spelling Nazi) on Saturday, 18-Jan-2014 22:56:47

Bah. They usually only have the crappy short European versions of movies, with scenes missing.

Post 31 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Saturday, 18-Jan-2014 23:40:42

And some of them are edited for profanity.

Post 32 by DrummerD (Veteran Zoner) on Sunday, 19-Jan-2014 13:51:02

@post 10: No, canes are still canes over here. It's just the sighties, like anywhere, who ignorantly call them sticks. If you want more channels, load the audio TV playlist into your favourite media player, and you're sorted. While they might not have episode descriptions, they do have a schedual for a few of the channels. You can find them if you navigate through to the respective channel pages, and it should be one of the bottom headings.

Post 33 by UniqueOne (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Sunday, 19-Jan-2014 17:46:31

wow never knew that about the blindmicesmart movie vault and yep that's what I was talking about. I agree the old was better!

Post 34 by Grand_Admiral_Thrawn (Veteran Zoner) on Tuesday, 28-Oct-2014 23:59:20

no, I've found most of the movies in the vult to be American actually, or I should say the American versions.

Post 35 by GreenTurtle (Music is life. Love. Vitality.) on Thursday, 30-Oct-2014 19:10:16

They are edited, though, which is annoying. I would think that most adult-themed movies would be watched by, well, adults. So why remove the profanity? Also, some of the audio levels are really off, requiring you to boost them with an audio editor if you want all your movies to have the same volume.

Post 36 by blbobby (Ooo you're gona like this!) on Thursday, 30-Oct-2014 19:19:30

Last time I was there they used that lousy ssend space. By the time your download is finished the sequel is out.
